Bath has one of the best dog parks you’ve ever seen. 12 Acres on the Kennwbec River, walking pier and plenty of parking. Dogs and their people can romp off-leash on 11 acres in the South End Park located on Lower Washington Street. The park provides poop-and-scoop bags, has a dedicated parking lot, and is open year round. For people not into playing with pups, there’s even a walking trail and Bocce ball. Dogs must be under voice control when off-leash.
Best dog park I have ever been to. Huge fenced in, grassed area for dogs, walking path, and pier right on the Kennebec river. Huge piece of land with scenic views of the Kennebec river. Right down the road from the Maine Maritime Museum and Bath Iron Works. It is truly a hidden gem. Large pier over the river with benches and nice railings. The dogs can be off their leashes. Very friendly dogs there. You get a wonderful view of BIW and all their ships they are working on. Great to see the destroyers cruise by on sea trials. The landscaper let my son sit on the lawn mower tractor. That made his day. Very clean and maintained park, no stink or poop anywhere. You would not even know it was a dog park if it did not say so. I have been to a few dog parks in my day and they all stink and are dirty, but not this one. This is truly the best dog park I have ever been to.
