Sail past the six lighthouses of the Kennebec River before passing Fort Popham and Popham Beach. Experience the thrill of sailing Mary E in open water past Seguin Island to Casco Bay.  We’ll pass Harpswell and Admiral Perry’s Eagle Island before docking at the Dolphin Marina and restaurant. Predicting New England Weather

This program will review the primary natural forces responsible for global weather and describe how they interact to produce the complex weather patterns we experience here in New England.  Once those primary forces are understood we will consider a variety of different cloud types and learn how the changes in pattern of clouds over a few minutes or hours can help us predict what our local weather will be over the next period of 12 to 20 hours. 17th Century Woodworking

Join MFS volunteer Fred Gosbee for a look at woodworking techniques from the 1600s (when the original Virginia was built!) using a pole lathe and shaving horse.  Stop by 10am-2pm to see Fred while he works on "wooden bits for the rigging" throughout the day. Wednesday is a 9am-3pm workday for our volunteer shipbuilders; come by the Jane Stevens Visitor Center to learn about their work reconstructing the 1607 pinnace Virginia built at the Popham Colony.
