Citizen Involvement Day is a community building event that brings awareness about service organizations to the public and honors individuals and groups that work to benefit the City of Bath and its residents.

More than 40 area non-profit organizations and groups will be set up in Waterfront Park to promote their programs. At noon, the City will announce the 2019 Citizen of the Year along with the winners of the Youth Award, the Al Smith Community Spirit Award, and the Community Project Award.

Also included in Citizen Involvement Day:

• The City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee will be offering free bike registration through the Bath Police Department and will lead a guided bike tour of Butler Cove at 9:30 a.m.
• A flu vaccination clinic, available through CHANS Home Health & Hospice, will be located under the park pavilion.
• Midcoast Maine Community Action will be hosting a touch-a-truck event (in concurrence with Citizen Involvement Day) for families in the parking lot behind the Custom’s House from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The first hour will be silent and sensory-friendly.
• Citizen Involvement Day is included in Main Street Bath’s Autumnfest Celebration, taking place all day Saturday. Other events include the Bath Farmer’s Market, Rotary 4-Way 5K Run/Walk, and several business special events. Learn more on their website:   https://visitbath.com/events/autumnfest/
