On Deck: Sailors’ Souvenirs: Art in Maritime Maine

Join Maine Maritime Museum for their new winter program, “On Deck.” They invite you to an hour of discovery featuring unique storytelling and hands-on learning in a laid-back, social atmosphere. The series will run every Tuesday at 10:30am, from February 6 to March 13.

Sailors’ Souvenirs: Art in Maritime Maine

How many snowglobes do you own? Learn how Maine’s sailors and captains commemorated their journeys by purchasing and commissioning “art” objects from around the world. Investigate examples, ranging from luxurious items to the down-right kitsch, from the MMM collection.
