Kennebec Early Music Festival Fortepiano Fest
August 17, 2018 @ 7:00 pm
$10 – $25NOTE – This concert is also being performed on Thursday, August 16th, at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, ME.
The Kennebec Early Music Festival is bringing together musicians of national and international renown from San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and Bath to perform the music of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and other classical masters on historic instruments. Baroque and Classical clarinets, Baroque violin and violoncello, Flemish harpsichord, and Viennese fortepiano.
Susanna Ogata on her 1772 Klotz violin and Tamara Friedman on her 1795 Viennese fortepiano will offer up a rich feast of solos and duos, including a C. P. E. Bach’s Violin Sonata in C minor, Mozart’s delightfully virtuosic Variations on “Salve tu Domine,” Joseph Haydn’s humorous Piano Sonata No. 50 in C major, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s masterful Sonata No. 8 for Violin and Fortepiano. Preceding the concert at 6:15 pm will be an “about the instruments talk”.
KEMF 2018 is supported by grants from the Edgard and Geraldine Feder Foundation and the Davenport Family Trust, with major sponsorships from Bath Savings Trust Company, William Raveis/Carleton Real Estate and Androscoggin Bank.
