Friends of Patten Free Library Annual Meeting with Guest Author RINKER BUCK

FreeJoin the Friends of Patten Free Library at their Annual Meeting on Thursday October 12th at 6:30 pm for a brief meeting and Guest Author RINKER BUCK will speak about his book, THE OREGON TRAIL: A new American Journey. This book tells his epic journey along the Oregon Trail in a covered wagon with his brother. He is also author of FLIGHT OF PASSAGE, about a coast to coast flight in a piper cub with his older brother, when they were 15 and 17. He has family connections to Maine and is now working on his next book which follows his trip down the Ohio and Mississippi rivers on a 18th century flatboat. Rinker continues his unique style of combining history with a modern day travel journal. Among his awards is the Eugene S. Pullman Journalist writing award.
Mustard Seed Bookstore will have Rinker Buck’s books for sale at the event.
The Friends are volunteers and concerned citizens who understand the importance of advocacy and support for the excellence of their library. The Friends support the Library through the Heritage Days Book Sale, Children’s Book Sale, and The Library Bookstore. The Library’s operating budget as well as a number of diverse library programs which interest many different ages and audiences is supported by this active group.
