Christmas Tree Lighting, Jingle Bell Walk, & Visit with Santa
On Saturday, November 28th, join Santa Claus for the kick-off to an Old-Fashioned Christmas in Bath. This children’s event begins at 11 a.m. in the Patten Free Library Children’s Room with story-time and ornament making. Santa will arrive at 3 p.m. for the Children’s Tree Lighting in the Gazebo in Library Park. Children are encouraged to hang their handmade ornaments on the tree. Jingle bells will be distributed father walk with Santa to City Hall for cookies, caroling, refreshments, and a visit with Mr. & Mrs. Claus.

Fridays & Saturdays, December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19 (5 p.m. – 9 p.m.)

Trolley Christmas Caroling
Grab a blanket and a thermos of hot chocolate and hop on the trolley with your family and friends. Voices ring out as the trolley travels through the streets of Bath. Don’t miss these unique nights of caroling. Passengers will be picked up at City Hall every 30 minutes. No admission charge, first come first serve.

Friday, December 11 (5 p.m. – 8 p.m.)

Downtown Bath Open House
The street will be lined with luminaria as Downtown Bath merchants and restaurants stay open late to welcome shoppers with festive holiday music, refreshments and one-of-a-kind gifts. Here’s your chance to get in the spirit and get that last minute shopping done! Come see Bath’s vibrant downtown decked out in its Christmas best, admire the window displays and be sure to vote for your favorite in downtown’s Christmas window decorating contest!

Begininning November 28…

Stuff Santa’s Bag with Christmas Dinner
Santa’s bags can be found in the lobbies of Bath City Hall, Bath Savings Institution, Brackett’s Market, First Federal Bank (Congress Ave & Front St locations), and Now You’re Cooking beginning on November 28th. In the spirit of the holidays, children and adults are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to stuff Santa’s bag for families in need. The donated food will be distributed to the Bath Food Bank in time for the holidays.

Items of greatest need include: Boxed Stuffing, Canned Sweet Potatoes, Instant potatoes, Turkey Gravy, Canned veggies, Canned pasta (i.e. – spagetios, ravioli, beefaroni etc), Boxed Mac and Cheese, Spaghetti Sauce, Peanut butter, Canned meats (i.e. – chicken, tuna)


Red Letter Boxes
The Red Boxes will dot the downtown area. Take a moment to drop in a letter for Santa or a holiday card for the seniors. Holiday cards will be distributed to Bath area seniors and Santa’s letters will be sent off to the North Pole. All will promote a feeling of good will and holiday spirit.

December 31 (12 noon – 1 p.m.)

Paul Revere Bell Ringing
Thisis the 14th Annual Paul Revere Bell Ringing! Please join us as we sing out the old and ring in the New Year on the historic bell at Bath City Hall. We will gather a few minutes before Noon at the corner of Front and Centre Streets for singing and a short ceremony, followed by the bell ringing and refreshments in City Hall auditorium. Bring your party hats and noisemakers!
