Our most cherished of events throughout the year, An Old Fashioned Christmas in Bath is the height of tradition and charm.

Starting the week of Thanksgiving, poke into any of our downtown shops to grab our Old Fashioned Christmas Brochure which will hold all the secrets of the season, including your chance to vote in our Neighborhood Decorating Contest and Shop Window Decorating Contest. You will also see the calendar of events such as concerts, family activities and fairs from all around Bath.

Our Red Magic Letter Boxes appear the week of Thanksgiving, ready to take letters to Santa and to seniors in assisted living. Come build the warmest memories of kind shop keeper, great shopping finds and enchanting performances in historic downtown Bath. This year our Red Letter Boxes will be located in front of Loyal Biscuit and next to Bath Printing Company, on either end of Front Street.

Saturday November 26th – Santa’s Arrival ! 5pm at Library Park (Washington Street)

Santa will arrive at the Gazebo where we will welcome the holiday season with caroling with the Nor’easters Barbershop Chorus and cookies will be available for munching. Santa and Mrs. Claus will ceremoniously light the Community Tree (generously donated by Jorgensen Landscaping). Photo opportunities with Santa will be available after the tree lighting.

Trolley Caroling is Back!

Starting at 4:30pm to 8:30pm with stops every half hour. First come first serve. No tickets necessary.

Friday, December 9th, Saturday the 10th, Friday the 16th, Saturday the 17th and Friday the 23rd and Christmas EVE!

Friday December 9th – 5pm -8:00pm Bright Night Bath!

Come enjoy Late Evening Shopping in all the downtown shops. Stop by City Hall for John Stenquist’s Fire Sculpture and roast marshmallows from the Bath Elementary PTA.

The Nor’easters Barbershop Chorus will be singing carols up and down the street.

The Salvation Army Brass Band will be stationed at Elm Street Plaza (next to Country Farm Furniture).

The Morse High School Band and Chorus will be performing at 6pm at the steps of City Hall!

Christmas Season Costumed Characters will be wandering through town ready for you to meet! Think Elf, Olaf, Reindeer and more! You may even see characters from the upcoming show “Twisted Christmas”!

Santa and Mrs. Clause will be around to meet with and when they aren’t walking through town they will be at the inflated Snow Globe located next to Brackett’s Market.

Tonight is the first night for Trolley Caroling as well. There are no tickets this year, it is first come first serve with stops for pick up at the Bus Stop near City Hall every half hour from 4:30pm to 8:30pm.

Saturday December 10th – 10:00am-2pm Santa’s Day in Downtown Bath

Keep your eyes peeled at 10:00am to catch Santa and Mrs. Claus as they ride through town as a part of their ATV parade! Led by our proud City of Bath Police, they will wind up and down through town with several stops to chat with children and have photos taken. After 12 noon they will be on their way to visit seniors at the three area assisted living homes, before winding their way back downtown one last time.

Shetland Yard Farm will be back with their festive Shetland ponies down at Brackett’s Market from 10-2pm.

Stop in at Mockingbird Bookshop from 10-12pm where your children can use stationary donated by Bath Printing Company, to write their letters to Santa! (You can drop them in the Magic Letter Boxes just outside on the sidewalk!).

Christmas Cheer will be spread by two of our local beloved Cheerleader Groups, so keep an eye out for.. Gimme a Ho Ho HO!

Monday December 19th, Holiday Decorating Contest Winners!

Today is the day Santa will announce the WINNERS of the Neighborhood House Decorating Contest and the Downtown Shop Window Decorating Contest. These will all come from voting on the panel of the Old Fashioned Christmas brochures (found around town at most local shops!). Voting will have occurred between December 3rd and December 16th. The Winner of the Shop Window will receive a printed certificate and bragging rights. The Top Three Voted Best Neighborhood House’s will win $100 worth of Gift of Bath, $75 and $25 in that order.
