Judson Pottery Studio – 52 Front Street, 3rd Floor- Carolyn Judson, owner/artist – JudsonPottery.com
When did you begin the enterprise and why?
I set up my studio here in Bath in 1996. I moved here from New York City where I had a studio. Bath was a quieter, less hectic and more affordable place to be an artist and potter.
What do you offer?
My studio doubles as a gallery displaying my paintings, drawings and ceramic sculpture. I teach a class in ceramic sculpture and handbuilt pottery. I have shown as a guest artist at The Centre Street Art Gallery and my work is also for sale in Markings gallery downstairs from my studio.
What might surprise someone about you or your business?
What might surprise people about me is the wide range of subject matter, style, technique and mediums I work in.
What are you excited about in the coming year?
I currently have a large drawing in a show at River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta and I have upcoming shows with The Points of View group of artists in Brunswick at 18 Pleasant Street. I am in the studio most days, except Sunday. You can tell I’m there when my sandwich board sign is out in front of 52 Front Street. Come on up, it’s worth the climb to the third floor!
In conjunction with a new initiative, we’re also asking: What favorite local non-profits do you support?
A portion of our sales from our upcoming Food For Thought show in Brunswick will go to the food bank.
