Santa Visits Bath Maine Christmas

Hello Old Friends and New!

Let me start by saying a hearty Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I hope you all take the time to ponder those things you are thankful for in your life. I will share with you some of the thanks I'm feeling tonight. I am thankful I live in this amazing little city and that I get to work with so very many incredible people that make this place special. It's a team effort from the citizens who volunteer, choose to shop locally and make their voices heard, to the small business owners who are following their dreams and giving along the way, to the City of Bath that has people who care so deeply about making this city the best it can be. I am thankful for all of this and everything in between.

Now, down to business! We've got a busy weekend coming and we hope to see each and every one of you taking part in something.

  • Saturday Santa is coming! From 11am-2:30pm Children can make ornaments at the library for the Christmas Tree in the gazebo (thank you to Jorgenson Landscaping for decorating and the tree every single year). Santa will arrive at the gazebo at 3:00 and the tree will be lit, followed by a Jingle Bell walk up Front Street to City Hall where there will be cookies and drinks while waiting for children to have their time with Santa.
  • Saturday is also Shop Small Saturday. Be sure to shop and dine with Bath's many local independent business owners. Every time you purchase from a small business, an actual person does a happy dance.
  • The window decorating contest starts Saturday and will continue into December. Vote for your favorite window. Ballots are in many of the businesses. Votes will be tallied and the winner will be announced at Sing! It's Christmas on December 18th at the Chocolate Church. Names will also be drawn from the ballots for gift baskets. More info on this later but be sure you like our Facebook page for what will be in the baskets, there is some great stuff!
  • The adorable red boxes are on Front Street for children to write letters to Santa and have them delivered straight to the North Pole. There are 2 boxes, one by Hallets Clock and one by Island Treasure Toys. Bring your little ones down to mail their letters!
  • And certainly last, but not least. Main Street Bath needs you! We are in the midst of our annual appeal and kindly request donations to help make our organization run. Please give what can, every single dollar helps to keep our Downtown and all small businesses going. There is a button right below this email. Please take a moment to give what you can.
Now that was a ton of information! Don't forget to check the community calendar (also below) to see what other fabulous things are happening.

A very happy Thanksgiving to you all. I'll see you Downtown!
