What is Main Street Bath?

Originating out of the National Historic Trust, Main Street America now has 840+ accredited Main Street programs, including Main Street Bath! We are here to ensure that our historic downtown is preserved, healthy and thriving.

Bill King, Jayne Palmer and others were part of the core group of business owners who felt strongly that our little city needed the structure and holistic approach of the Main Street Program. Bill brought the program to Maine in 2001. 

Our nonprofit focuses on the downtown, as we feel it is the heart of the city. If the heart is healthy, the "body" (region of Bath) will be healthier. We assist businesses with resources, pull together community events, advocate for historic preservation of architecture and market Bath across the state.

In person or through Zoom, there are many ways to get involved.
Economic Vitality - the Third Thursday of each month at 4:00pm at the Train Station.
Design - the second Tuesday of each month at 2:30pm at the Train Station

Promotions - the first Wednesday of each month at 8:00am via Zoom.

Organization - the first Monday of each month at 3:00m at the Train Station.

We are eager to have all voices at the table when we are building our annual workplan and everyone has a place in volunteering! Whether it's stuffing envelopes, sitting a table at an event or helping pull together the community.. there are many ways to feel ownership in the work of Main Street Bath.
